Photographic documentation of the excavation of some 750 intact burials from what had been The Golden Gate Cemetery, circa late 1890's, in San Francisco, now sitting under the site of the California Palace Of The Legion Of Honor. Excavation was initiated in 1992 after beginning as a renovation and expansion project for the museum. The archaeological find represents the largest post-Gold Rush community site ever excavated. Book published in conjunction with an installation at the Museum of Photographic Arts in San Diego, CA, in 1997. Book design by Tenazas Design San Francisco. In English.
